Well I got my W2 tax form from work yesterday. Now I can figure out how much the bastards owe me, yeeehaw! Guitar lesson today, eek! I went to the annual beach trip over the weekend with the whole gang, wasted time watching that damn Average Joe show (and other reality tv I need not mention). Also read my book and didnt leave much time for practice in between. Oh well my teacher is pretty understanding. Guess there's always next week... Oh yeah, at the beach house we had cable, so we all watched Headbangers Ball and Chad was on there. Well, Himsa was on I should say, and he's the drummer. It's so weird seeing my old roommate on MTV2 though. I wish the weather would get better so I could start riding my bike to work again. Curse you Portland Rain! praise sietan
I just got back from checking out this new Vegan grocery store called Food Fight. It's only a 3 minute walk from my house and they have the best snacks and food. I even bought a shirt that says praise sietan with forks in the shape of a pentagram. The owners were really nice too. They gave me a free sticker and button. It's my new favorite store! I was able to splurge and buy all this good stuff at Food Fight today because yesterday some guy tipped me a hundred bucks after he won a royal flush on Video Poker. I could'nt believe he actually tipped me that much, I was in shock! That money will help out with the new bike I'm buying next week. It's a schwinn road bike and it's 500 bucks but, Justin gets his discount so it'll only be 325. I cant wait to get it! Guess I should go buy my ticket for the Eighteen Visions show Sunday then head to work. I can only cross my fingers and wish for another 100 dollar tip today.. wiggity wiggity wack
Well I have officially been back in Portland for 16 days now and it's nice to be home. Things havnt changed much and I miss my friends in Ireland but there will be more traveling in the future. Since I've been back it's been non stop socializing with friends, drinking, bike riding and just plain doing stuff. I went to the Zine Symposium last weekend. Went to a very depressing documentary on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict July 30th. I went to eat at Dot's with Sarah and Caleb a few days ago and they finally met Justin. And I've also been going to the river a lot. Tonight my boyfriends band Sumara is playing at the meow meow, so that should be fun. But I've been playing around too much and not doing enough J O B searching. Monday is when I put that on top priority though. This weekend should be interesting. Atreyu is playing Saturday and the Infinity Tattoo Party is on Sunday. I'm not good at keeping this journal anymore. But it's still nice to type in it every once in a while. And thats a wrap.. Stuff N things
So I'm still in Ireland and I'll be here until July 23rd, its official now. I just changed my plain ticket the other day. I'll be staying longer so I can check out Scotland, Wales and England. I also bought my plane ticket to spain last week for the running of the bulls, hooo haww! That should be fun. I found a job here as well, and it's going great. The owner is really nice and easy going. I work at a little pizza place across the street from the college here in Cork, and its pretty entertaining. My roommates get free pizza from my work and in return I get to see free movies at the theater they work at. It's a good trade. I'm at an internet cafe and since I'm paying for my time online, gotta jet. Just thought I'd update real quick. I'm so mad I'll be gone for the Against Me show in Portland, and for mini bike summer with the zoo bomb kids. Oh well traveling is a blast, time to hit the pubs! Pictures to come soon... Greetings from Ireland
Well things here are going grand (as they say) here of course. It's funny how Ireland is mainly an English speaking country, but damn they talk so fast it seems like it's in another language! We went out to the Hay Penny Bridge Pub the other night and got fairly pissed and it was also a comedy night so that was hilarious! All these comedians making fun of how many Irish are alcoholics and making jokes about their catholic upbringing. Good times. The George Bush Protest Monday in Belfast was amazing! People are very into politics here and It was great to see all the people and check out how their protests run. I also got a cell phone so that's been handy in calling on flats and looking for jobs. This is such a crazy big city though I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get a job but I'm trying none the less. Some restaurant should take in a friendly American girl to waitress for them I hope! *I did get some pictures put on disc of my going away party and one of me here so if anyone can tell me how (from start to finish) to post them on my journal I'd be greatful.* CHEERS! I made it
Wow I havnt updated my journal in a long time so I figured I do it while I'm at the internet cafe in Dublin. Yep I made it safe and sound to Ireland today and it's a crazy city. So much bigger than Portland I hope I can keep up. Tonight is all about sleeping off the jet lag but tomorrow we'll hit up the pubs. Just thought I'd say hi to anyone who might still read this thing. Thats all folks... Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: Irish music in the cafe |

Hooray for Humans!
It's really going to happen I can feel it! I'm actually going to get out of this town and see a little bit of the world! I got my passport in the mail the other day, I have plenty of money saved up, Heather's mom's friend is a travel agent and is looking for a cheap flight, oh my! I've been so excited about my trip to Ireland that is slowly creeping up in April, that I talk to Justin about it all the time. He's not quite excited about it, but he'll live. I wonder how it will affect our relationship? Guess I'll see... Some interesting things have happened at my restaurant lately so I thought I'd post a few. 1. Some old guy came in took out his dentures and set them on the table BEFORE he ate his food. How he ate a chicken fried steak with no teeth I'll never know... 2. I used vanilla flavoring on two, count them TWO salads thinking it was caesar salad dressing and the customers didn't say one word about it! Maybe it should be the new house dressing. 3. Some guy ran in, grabbed our 25 cent candy machines and ran out with them. I yelled and tried to go after him but he was too fast. Now that is one crazy sweet tooth he must have had because there was not more than $2.50 in those machines I bet. What a weird place my work can be, but at least I can finally say I love my job! Oh yeah and I went Zoo Bombing last Sunday for the first time in about a month. It reminded me of how much fun it really is. Everyone formed a circle at the chill spot and were taking turns dancing in the middle. There was also a crazy limbo competition that was fun until I fell on my knees. Who would have known the skill some zoo bomb kids posessed at the limbo. Good to see everyone again. I'll have to start going more often. Well thats all folks... I have a job interview tonight! It's at Ron's restaurant (soon to be Amanda's I'm going to take it over of course) and I'm kinda nervous. Interviews always suck because you have to act all professional and spew out all the bullshit answers you know they want to hear. Oh well, wish me luck. Taaaa-da
I saw the saddest thing today when I came home from the store. I heard a growling noise as I was getting out of my car and I turned around to see a cat with a squirrel in its mouth! It wasnt just a little squirrel either, it was huge! I couldnt tell if the it was dead or not but I dropped everything I had in my hands and headed after the cat. The cat ran off slowly so as not to drop its catch but I was too late the squirrel was dead and there wasnt anything I could do. On a happy note, I've named my new cruiser bike the Blue Ribbon! Thats my name for it because I'm going to mod podge PBR bottle labels all over it. Say it with me, SHE'S CRAFTY! I started on it today but I need more labels. Every time my friends and I go to the Vern I try and get them to drink bottles instead of cans but they dont always do it. So looks like its up to me to get them myself! It'll look so great when its done. I also have red and blue ribbon wrapped around the handle bars and hanging down like tassels too. I cant wait for the critical mass bike ride tomorrow! I've got my camo shirt ready to represent Zoo Bombs and my video camera all charged up. Tomorrow is going to be great. Current Mood: cheerfulCurrent Music: planes mistaken for stars -knuckle hungry |
